What Is Digital Orthodontics?

Digital orthodontics refers to the use of 3D scanning, digital treatment planning, and customized appliance design. This includes scanning your teeth with a handheld wand, using software to map your tooth movement, and creating brackets or aligners based on that exact plan.

Benefits of a Digital Approach

Digital tools mean fewer surprises and more accurate results. With a custom-built plan and appliances designed to fit your smile, treatment is often faster, smoother, and more comfortable. It also lets us share your progress visually—so you're always in the loop.

Orthodontics & Jaw Surgery: Working Together

In some cases, correcting bite or alignment issues requires more than braces alone. When jaw positioning is a concern, we work closely with oral surgeons to coordinate your treatment for long-term balance, function, and facial harmony.

What Is Orthognathic Surgery?

Orthognathic (jaw) surgery is used to reposition the jaws when their alignment cannot be corrected with orthodontics alone. This is typically recommended in moderate to severe cases involving an underbite, overbite, open bite, or facial asymmetry.

How It Helps

Combining jaw surgery with orthodontics allows us to improve both the bite and the appearance of your profile. When planned well, it can relieve joint discomfort, improve breathing, and help you smile and function with confidence.

Treating Overbites Without the Guesswork

Bracesetters Orthodontics offers non-compliance bite-correction appliances like the Herbst and M2M. These are designed for more severe overbites and work without relying on elastic bands or patient-controlled devices.

What Is a Non-Compliance Appliance?

These appliances are fixed in place and apply consistent pressure to shift the bite over time—no daily effort required. They’re especially useful for growing patients who need dependable results without having to remember to wear extra gear.

Why We Use Them

Non-compliance appliances help us correct jaw position and overbites more efficiently. Because they work around the clock, they can often reduce overall treatment time and ensure a more predictable outcome.
